Mechanical Technician

Parallel Fluidics - Powering the next generation of microfluidic products

Microfluidics is the technology behind the future of personalized medicine and rapid diagnostics. At Parallel Fluidics, we recently raised seed funding to create a development platform that will power the next generation of microfluidic products.

We are hiring a skilled technician to produce microfluidic devices and support our engineering team in a fast-paced startup environment.

In this role you will

  • Operate a 3 axis CNC machining center
  • Operate custom Parallel automation equipment
  • Inspect completed devices
  • Run tests and collect data
  • Fulfill customer orders
  • Manage stock material inventory
  • Assemble new custom automation equipment
  • Help manage the Parallel lab
  • Support the engineering team at Parallel

This role is an opportunity to become a vital member of the Parallel team. You will be the first point of contact on our production line and should exercise analytical judgment to support a semi-automated manufacturing process. The ideal candidate is detail oriented, owns their work, and is a clear communicator. Since our team at Parallel is small, the exact nature of the work for this role may change on a day to day basis to best support the company. There will be many opportunities for growth as the company expands.

We don’t expect anyone to have all of the experience listed below. But, expertise or interest in learning some of the these skills is a huge plus:

  • Microfluidics or microfabrication
  • Operation of CNC equipment
  • CAM programming
  • CAD software
  • Troubleshooting electromechanical systems
  • Data collection and analysis
  • Hands-on assembly and fabrication skills

This is primarily an on-site position since it will require hands-on work. However, we prioritize flexibility and are willing to work with employees to make sure they can balance their work and their personal lives.

We value diversity of all kinds, and are committed to building a diverse and inclusive workplace where we learn from each other. We are an equal opportunity employer and welcome people of all different backgrounds, experience, and perspectives.

Compensation

  • Competitive salary
  • Equity in a fast growing seed stage company
  • Flexible PTO
  • Health insurance
  • Flexible work schedule
